ESTHER ORPHANS CHILDREN CENTER:
Esther orphans children center is a 501 [C]3 a tax –exempt charitable organization that began in the year 2007 at Omoringamu Village , Nyanzakia Sub- location, Tendere Location Gucha District in Kenya. The home sits on 135 x 50 FT of land parcel no:819 Boochi Chache. The centre is currently home to 42 orphans aged 3-14 years of age alongside staffs that attend to their needs.
MISSION
- To provide a home to orphaned children who have lost both of their parents.
- To create a safe, loving and nurturing environment for the children.
- To supply the children with essential nutrition, education, love security , medical care, religious guidance and the opportunity for a bright future.
THE CONSEQUENCES OF BEING AN ORPHAN IN KENYA.
- Decreased access to adequate nutrition, basic health care, housing, education and clothing.
- Grief and trauma over the loss of their parents and living with worsened social and economic support. Love and emotional support is often less in foster care than from biological parents.
- Increased psychosocial such as depression , anxiety , irritability, post trauma or even stress
- Vulnerability to exploitation due to decreased social and economic support .Exploitation includes child labor and physical and sexual abuse.
- Increased involvement in crime and prostitution as a means of survive and decreased future prospects.
OBJETIVES
To provide the admitted orphans a home with:
- Suitable shelter, clothing and food.
- Spiritual guidance.
- Social care and monitored healing from past traumatic experiences.
- With indiscriminate love for all.
- Adequate education facilities as uniforms and school supply
- Appropriate medical care.
