Spectrum's mission Ustupu Island San Blas Here the children are eating their lunch in the Sanctuary. Some of them are standing in the entrance of the church where they attend classes. Pastor Laurencio Navas and his wife are the Directors of the Spectrum mission on the Island of Ustupu. Pastor Navas is reaching out to the world communities for a couple of out board motors for the boats they have in the compound. The out board motors for these boats are broken. These boats are used as their only means of transportation to go to the main Island to purchase food, kerosene, fuel, etc.
Since the last rain storm and flooding that damaged several of the huts. The church is now being utilized as the class room, and a place to sit and eat a warm meal. We are seeking donations help to dig and build water wells.
Can you help us rebuild the kitchen? May be you will be able to provide solar panels systems for lighting in the church. They are using cayuco with paddles to go to and from Ustupu Island and the surrounding Islands. Spectrum is seeking donors who will be willing to donate 4 complete solar panel system and batteries, which will stop the use of flammables fuels at night in the compound. These flammables fuels are used for lighting during the night hours. Pastor Navas and the team of volunteers will like to thank you in advance for your help. The children receive tree meal daily, but there is still a need for Sneakers, Shoes, and Clothing for children from one year to 15, Blankets, Toys, Books, Writing Paper, Pencils etc Our drinking water comes from the river, it is boiled at the mission, but out side of he mission is another story. Would you sponsor 5 complete solar panels systems, and the equipment, and materials for two water well. We are looking to add a second floor above the Church building. My name is Pastor. Laurencio Navas; I am a Kuna Indian from San Blass, Ustupu Island Kuna Yala. I’m the Pastor of Spectrum Mission of Hope, Church of God. I received my Master in Theology from Costa Rica Bible Seminary, in Costa Rica. My wife and I never stopped caring and helping the needy children in our community. Today there are 73 boys and girls in our care at the mission. Thanks to Pastor Coney and Spectrum International Children and its donors.
Five Embera communities in the Darien province will have to be relocated after being..... It be came blazingly apparent during this entire crisis that there is a great need for help. Those affected may have lost their living. But not their Hope. They were crying. Save me, 0 God; for the floodwaters are up to my neck. Deeper and deeper I sink into the mire; we can't find a foothold. We are in deep waters, And the floods overwhelm us. We are exhausted from crying for help our eyes are swollen from weeping our throat are parched.
