France Lewis

Ms. Lewis is especially concerned about the children who are sexually abused before coming to the orphanage.  Ms. Lewis feels that this is a subject that needs serious attention.  While visiting orphanages in Vietnam, Ms. Lewis has seen the fear of these poor orphanage children who have nightmares and fears of going to sleep at night.  She noticed that most of these children have extreme mood swings, withdrawal, fearfulness and cry excessively which is a behavior that a lot of people classify as an aggressive child with rebellious behavior. These children have nobody to reach out to, so they tend to act out inappropriate and go through withdrawal.  These children need someone to cling to someone, to talk to, a shoulder to cry on, but they have nobody so Ms. Lewis has decided to be that person that these children can reach out to.  Ms. Lewis feel their pain, and have seen the bleeding and rawness of their private areas that goes unattended. She's has spoken to some of these children about their unexplained bruises, rashes, and injuries.  Their feeling of loneliness and Ms. Lewis also knows that these children really don't understand what is happening to them. That's why Ms. Lewis went to Hanoi to study Vietnamese, so she can communicate effectively with these children in their native language.

Tung Luuhi Thanh

My name is Tung LuuThiThanh.  I was born in Ha Noi and I have witnessed many poor children without parents or family. I often visit orphanages in Ha Noi, as well as, many orphanages in the country side. My dream has always been to help these children to have a better life.  I am happy to be part of a organization that focuses on helping poor homeless children in Vietnam. I often cry when seeing the way these children suffer.  When I visit these orphanages and see the handicapped children, it really makes my heart ache. It will make me very happy to see a smile on their faces and to make them feel like normal children.
